    Freelander - Electronic Parts/Workshop Manuals

    Hi all,

Anyone know where I can electronic workshop and parts manuals for the L series Diesel Freelander - I have previously bought on ebay UK but even though they advertise to have L series most are V6 or TD4. The usual rip-off. They are not listed in our emporium on this sight.

    Thanks

I just checked my RAVE disc I bought from this very sight - cheers Inc, and it includes Freelander Worshop Mnaual version 5 and lists both L and K series engines.

Bugger me - even has video clips!!!! Nice one about cam belts!!!

Thanks LRH - have the Disco1Rave on order from this site - the description doesn't list the Freelander - can you confirm that this is the disk that you have.

Also have the parts disk on order - guess I should have looked at the description a little closer - it does mention Freelander - didn't get past Disco 1.

Changed my timing belt at Xmas when I found out it was about 30,000 km overdue (still looked like new though) - I used a Haynes Manual - it implies unbolting engine and removing driveshafts etc - however I found that by modifiying some small sockets I could do the job without moving the engine - there is just enough room to get the timing cover off and the new belt on - not difficult, just time consuming and a bit fiddly for arthritic fingers. Beer gut gets in the way a bit too!!

    Thanks

yep I have the Rave: 1 Disc and this has the Freelander L Series manuals.

The EPC also has the Freelander - but says 4 engines:

    1800 Petrol - K Series
    2000 Diesel - TCie ? Could be L Series?
    2000 Diesel - TD4
    2500 Petrol - V6

    Yep... RAVE covers the Freebee.

WRT the timing belts.... The pukka way of doing them is to remove the drive shafts and move the engine over for access!!!!!

Mark - that sounds like too much work.

My way, I only need the timing belt etc, no driveshaft nuts or circlip (bought a nut today from the stealer for $25) - and I only need a jack and some dexterity rather than engine hoists etc.

This tread was a silly question on my part. On re-reading what is on the Rave1 and parts CD, I do find that the freelander is lited on it - silly me.
