What model Falcon? I seem to recall that EA Falcons had a problem with high underbonnet temps causing battery boiling problems so they fitted an airscoop to supply outside air to the battery.

    Battery Discounts for Aulro members

Thanks for the advice, just picked up a SuperCharge Gold for my 97 Tdi Disco, from the guys at Newcastle, shall see how it goes, my old battery is starting to go, more noticeable now on cold mornings. Happy with the price (trade) and service.

bellaposs you'd be the ideal man to answer this.

Car was cranking away nicely on Friday evening (despite not starting which was not the battery's fault). This morning however, it's as flat as a tack. And I mean REALLY flat.

It's a Supercharge Gold. The battery charge indicator thingy looks red with black surrounds which seems to correlate to 'bettery needs checking' or some such.

What does this mean please. Will it hold charge if I recharge it ?
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Hi, it would seem that your battery is just flat, and it should recharge with no worries. That red indicator is just a simplified hydrometer that changes colour depending on the amount of charge.
You should charge it for at least 12 hours but preferably 24.
It sounds like your car has flattened the battery through lots of cranking or worse case you have a short that flattened it overnight but hopefully not

Yeh me to, I should have known better.

Ended up with a Century, made in Australia, dealers in most places especially the bush if something goes wrong can replace any where.

Some Korean branded batteries etc are cheaper but six months later if they collapse can they be replaced under warranty at places like Omeo or Birdsville, good brands can.
