Thread: difficult door lock

The drivers door central locking on my 03 Defender is becoming more difficult to lock and unlock using the key. Before I pull it apart would I expect it to be the solenoid in the door wearing out or a contact point that is becoming less responsive. Anyone experienced similar?

are you sure its not the lock itself getting all gunked up......?

im gonna get shot down for this.....but give it a squirt of wd40 using the thin red spaghetti it comes with to get in and flush it out.....
then try the key to see if it works freely.......

sometimes thats all it is.......graphite powder won't do the same job and its a lot messier.......
