    Discovery TDI 300 clutch problems

Can any one tell me why my clutch pedal feels sloppy and sticks to the floor some times. It doesn't use any clutch fluid. Now it has a bad shudder. Supposed to have had a new clutch a few years a ago when I bought it.

Sounds like a dodgy/sticky master cylinder.
The piston is hanging in the bore.

    Just replace it.

Shudder could be busted diaphragm springs which = new clutch required.

Cost difference between Britpart and Genuine seals: £2.04. Knowing that your brakes won't fail at any moment: Priceless.

Or a little oil on the plate, or dodgy/torn LHS g/box mount too.

Thank you both for that. I will try replacing both the master and slave cylinder. I will let you know how I get on. If the clutch needs doing I might lift the engine out
