Most of you will be smart enough to work this out for yourselves and to make the appropriate preparations, but after fitting a Mulgo gas strut to my Defender yesterday I figured I'd offer a word of caution to others yet to have a crack.

When drilling the hole for your rivnuts to mount the bracket in your door, please make sure you have some sure fire way of policing your plunge depth. Two from two for me in driving the bit into the outer skin such that I have two pointy little paintless bumps on the outside of my rear door. Thankfully they're obscured by my spare tyre, but it will bug me forever.
