    It's occurred to me that in the last 5 new models released by LR, they have used a motor/transmission from an earlier release. For example:
    • the D3 tdv6 & 6hp26 carried over into the D4, although the also introduced the 3.0 and sdv6.
    • the L322 4.4 tdv8 with the ZF 8 speed auto carried over into the L405.
    • the L320 3.0 tdv8 with ZF 8 speed carried over into the L494 & L405.
    • the FL2 with the 2.2 td4 with Aisen 6 speed carried over into the Evoque;
    • the Evoque 2.2 with ZF 9 speed carried over into the Disco Sport.

    Also, the new Evoque with the Ingenium motor will probably carry over to the Disco Sport next year.

    I am sure they did some re-engineering from one model to the next. It's probably smart as it helps ensure the new release will be reliable, which helps over come the lingering unreliability perception out there. It makes me wonder what they will do with the new Defender, may be it will get the Ingenium. I wonder what motor will go into the D5.
    L322 tdv8 poverty pack - wow

    The 3.6 v8 diesel with an auto 6speed would be nice. It's well known so it should be reliable by now, and doesn't impose on other models.

    My vote is for the 2.7 v6 dsl though.
