Maybe try the Range Rover section

A quick google search brings up a lot of responses across the land rover forums. this is the first found:

    93 classic central locking issue

Mine is a PITA too ... and can cycle the locks for 10seconds at times. The only way to get it to lock consistantly is to walk aroudn open the passenger side back door and reach to the front door and lock it from the front passenger door.......... I'll look at it "oneday" when I have time.

The central locking is factory though isn't it ? The alarm is no biggie .... just chop it out and repalce with one from somewhere like autobarn/ebay There not expensive. They keys always die before the alarm itself.

I got a cheap one from ebay.

Actually works quite well. A few things are a pain.
Remote start is pretty cool but sort of useless.
Auto door lock is a pain. But it was cheap and has thus far worked very well.
Still on the first controller too nearly a year later.

As you have this, it makes it very easy to install a different alarm. Just snip this out and refit a newie using this diagram (as someone has already gone to the effort of wiring all the crap in .... you can just use there existing wiring). The central locking interface is probably just leading/trailing edge square wave pulse..... copy the existing alarms wiring for it

You door locks cycling will not be the alarm though, they'll be the ****ty factory central locking!
