    BOSCH yellow injectors 3.9 V8.

Bought a set of these recently,

Ford Land Rover V8 19lb 4 Spray Injectors Fully Serviced Flow Matched X 8 | eBay

I don't know if they're Gen II or III., but anything must be better than the 20+ year old / 220+K LUCAS things in there now.

Are these the ones that need a second - extra- O ring? as per various archives, - If so, How do I size it? and where do I buy them from, please? VITON or 'ordinary' black stuff? The pack came with a sample of rubber grease.

-The last fuel delivery system I worked on had floats, needles,, jets and butterflies... Not really up with these new-fangled ideas...

Any pitfalls for the ignoranti when fitting these ?

Part number on one side is 0280 155 746 and other side is 1275194
(I've altered the spacing to make it easier to read...)

    Thanks !

They are ]gen111 and do need the extra o ring in the groove above the bottom oring.
Really any oring will do as it will be dry.

I just had another look at the photos and although they are gen111 they appear to have grooves in the top that the holding clip MAY fit into.

So if the clip will fit into the grooves you do not need the extra oring.

I cannot recall whether the gen111 that I had was fitted with those grooves but I think not.
You may be lucky that they are from an application that used clips.

    We live in hope....
    - Top groove is right around the top, but the lower one is only on the sides where you see it, .

#3 Son, Apprentice Motor Mechanic assures me they'll go in..."easily"... I'm thinking that removing the plenum - lump, top & bottom, would give more wriggle-room, but we won''t know till we start the job, next week perhaps.

    - I read somewhere that adding a spacer/lift/gasket under the plenum-top gives more clearance over the trumpets results in betterer airflow/efficiency/mpg/power/cures your gout, and enhances the hyper-drive...

IF your fuel pump is up for it you can replace the fuel pressure reg with an increased psi rating. You could really pump the motion lotion thru those 4 holes then.
You may be looking for a bigger leak in the tank

    Superquag,
Putting a spacer under the plenum cover is something the Ginetta and TVR boys in the UK do, or alternatively pop the ram pipes out and take 20mm off each. (Heat the unit in the oven (preferably when any female family members are not around), the aluminium will expand more than the steel pipes which you should be able to pull out - with care and oven mitts!). Stirlsilver of Disco ute fame in Tutorials has organised plenum cover spacers through a mob in Bayswater in Melbourne, also a 10mm Bakelite spacer that sits between between the plenum and intake runners that prevents heat soak into the plenum. I have one of these on my Disco V8 and I reckon it makes a real difference. Look forward to hearing how the injectors go - I'm getting somewhere between 20 and 25 litres/100km on the D1 (admittedly with a warm 4.6 in it!) and am keen to improve my fuel economy...
