Clean them properly and dry out. I then spray all inner cavities with Fisholene ie doors, sills pillars, guards, chassis, seams in engine bay etc. Leave to penertrate then redo with Tectyle over the top of the fish oil to seal (this also smells ok). Then spray the under body ie floor and outside of chassis with a couple of coats of Tectyle mixed with quick dry black enamel 4:1 mix, or Spetone under body rust proof. My car has no rust . I redo it every 2 years or so. Polish it with Meguires before and after a week on the beach. The car lives about 2km from the bay at Wynnum and is parked under a shade sail that really only stops Hail and sun, paint is sweet. Clear over base paints on modern cars don't really oxidise, solid colours are often 2K and do not have a clear coat so these will.
Sounds like it's effective Shaun - thanks for sharing the info! It's especially comforting to know you use the car on the beach and have found it works. As I'm buying a new boat that costs twice the car the boat gets the garage and unfortunately the car will be under one of those shade sail setups also, at least until I get a carport built (it'll be a while as I'll be out in the Disco and Boat too much to do much at home!)
