Angry Wabco brake failure in RR Classic

just when everything's been going perfectly in my 89 classic, I got a nasty surprise driving home tonight. Brake light came on, muffled pfff sound, clouds of white smoke in the rear view mirror and total brake failure.

White smoke was brake fluid burning on the exhaust as inspection revealed an empty fluid reservoir and brske fluid all over the Wabco master cylinder and all around. Was too dark to do much more.

I'm guessing the brake pressure proportioning valve has blown and high pressure fluid shot out the weep hole in the underside of the valve body. Believe it or not i replaced it about 100k ago in 2009.

Anyone else had this bit of fun on their ABS RR?

I never had a problem with it in 13 years of P38A ownership.

    Thanks for commiserations.
Got a good look at it today and found the flexible braided stainless steel line from the brake pump to the accumulator had split, spewing fluid madly of course when the pump is activated.
Now where would you get one of those???

I was going to suggest that line. There was a recall on them for the P38A in the very early days. I can't remember the details.

Just to complete this thread for future searchers.
Got an exact replica high pressure line with new banjos, s/s braided and the Dot 4 complying crimped connections (replacing the threaded unions) for $80 from Hydraulink who have branches everywhere.
Part unavailable from LR UK and twice the price from US + shipping.
