Thread: Series 3 Gearbox rebuild problem

I'm having my Series 3 Gearbox rebuilt (again) After the first rebuild when you select reverse, after 20 meteres or so the gearstick is violently thrown out of gear. You cannot hold the lever in gear when reversing - it gets thrown out with great force - this is not a detent spring problem.

Anybody had this happen before?

Could be the reverse gear bush, could be the mainshaft gears float but it would be something along those lines of too much clearance.
