    300TDI timing belt

OK I have read the tutorials & got the tools sorted .
Now a couple of things to clear up .
I will be refitting the timing belt & inj. pump to a rebuilt motor , is the process the same as a belt change in the tutorials ? are there any other traps for new players that I need to be aware of ?

Also my crank pulley came off by hand only , no tools or force required .
The bolt was tight , but came away readily with heat gun & rattle gun [ thanks Black knight ] the crank & pulley & key all look in good shape , the pulley pulled off smoothly with no play / wobble .
Am I just lucky , or should I be concerned ?

I needed a puller to get mine started, but it had some sort of compound ( obviously NOT anti seize ) on the mating surfaces.

nope it means whoever did it before you did it properly which is a good sign that if their workmanship remains constant means you have a well looked after engine that should have minimal issues with corrosion and poor gasketing techniques.
