    disc auto trannies

    hello guys are the internalls of the d2tranny behind the bosche v8 differ from the 3.9 d1 if so what is the diff or are they interchangeable?

    yes and no, it depends on what internal bits you mean.

    the D2 auto is electronic and the D1 is hydraulic. not easy to do a whole box swap but not impossible either.

    internals some of the gearing and clutching will be the same but you will have to watch for suffix and year variants changing tooth counts and shaft dimensions/lengths.

    casing sizes are similar, bell housings and TCs are slightly different but should swap from one box to the other.

    cooler piping and sumps are slightly different but no major hassles to change.

    tranny differances

    thanks blk knight ,just quirried cause considering whether to unload ,i have d2 bosche that is fine the d1 3.9 95 model tranny still in vehicle was just considering for spares but now i think it can be parted out with the rest of the truck as noboby seems to want to buy complete truck cheers. regards daryl
