    Puma Defender Duel Battery setup

Hi all, Just wondering what people have done with the duel battery set ups ect in the pumas. Ive bought a Redarc SBI12 isolator, Ive noticed the battery in the puma, (Mine is original) is massive, and dosent leave much room for a second battery. Just wondering what others have done, what batteries fit well, brackets ect.

    Cheers!!

I ended up running dual optima blue top batteries with a devon 4x4 dual tray.
I used a blue sea systems charging relay and bolted it to the rear section of the battery box along with quite a few other electrical mods.
You can see some pics and other details in my build thread if you are interested.

I made a new mount for the stock battery tray, moving the main battery over and up a bit. This gives enough space for a second battery, (an optima), the battery controller, and the factory jack. Sorry, don't have any drawings, just did it on the fly.

    Cheers,

    Righto, Thanks all.
Ive seen a lot of people put the batteries east west, not north south like what is factory. Think I might do this for simplicity as Ill only need to make one bracket.
Looks like the optima batteries are the go so ill throw one of those in at some stage and replace the main battery with one as well when it gives up the ghost.

    Cheers everyone

D34 (yellow top) or D34M (blue top).

It's a BCI group 34 size battery that you seek (that's what I went with, anyway)
