    Rear seat rattle

Disco 2 2002 Es rear seat rattle. The small section or passenger side rear seat rattles continually on corrugated roads and as this is the only real noise in the vehicle I would like to sort it out. I haven't had a real in depth look yet but I have noticed that it is the upright part of the seat that rattles or moves where it hinges. As the release to tilt the seat forward is cable operated I am just wondering whether there is any adjustment to reduce the gap in this locking mechanism. Its a bit hard to explain but I am sure someone out there would have had this problem before. Any help would be appreciated.

There are eccentric seat collars available to replace the concentric originals (if they're still fitted).
They're fitted & rotated to stop the freeplay & loctited into position.

HTP100080 is the LR part number.

    Robbo,

Check if a small spring has fallen off the catch. One of mine fell out while travelling the Gibb River Road, lucky this was all that fell off I suppose!

When I saw the spring was missing my heart sank as I did not relish the thought of going to a spare parts place for such a small item let alone a Land Rover parts dealer. I found the spring between the seat and the side wall, easy fixed. The rattle sure drove me mad, should be used to it after 3 land rovers!
