    Td5 belt tensioner

    Gday all
Is it normal for the belt tensioner on the Td5 to have a slight wobble when the engine is running? I just changed the bearing on mine because the original had a slight tick in it. I bought a cheap after market tensioner and just swapped bearings. Don't tell me the tensioner is stuffed!!!
    Regards

    New tensioner.

    Evening all
Well I just fitted a new genuine tensioner and the thing is still jumping around so I'm at a loss....
Is it normal for it to do this? Could the new harmonic balancer be causing it?
    Regards

Check your serpentine belt, while its off check all other pulleys for play / tight spots , check harmonic balancer, but unless its bad , I wouldn't stress too much

Mine jumps a bit back and forward while idling even with a new belt, and new genuine tensioner and idler. ie the pulley and arm move back and forward as a unit. If only your pulley is moving you have a problem.

I put it down to the power pulses between cylinders.

The ECU actually measures the acceleration from each cylinder and compensates with increasing/decreasing injector duration, hence the +2% etc you see on Nanocom.
