BA/BF non-turbo 6cyl Falcon items are similar (same?) as the Holden ones. The turbo/V8 ones are larger (diameter). I used a Ford one many, many years ago on my D1 and it also started to show signs of cracking when replaced with a UJ set-up later so they've not unburstable. Definitely stiffened things up a bit, but the old one was pretty tired so you'd expect that.
Note that Holden and Ford consider them maintenance items and that they should be replaced at certain intervals due to degradation/wear just like brake pads, timing belts, etc. That interval depends on use type.

It looks like a company called SGF supplies the German manufacturers (and Land Rover) with their couplings.
Genuine BMW, Lemforder, febi-Bilstein, Moyle, etc all sell re-boxed SGF couplings.
The M3/M5 coupling we're after is an SGF GAB-82-0.
