floor covering
what do you have on the floor of your 4by?
My Rangie currantly has factory vinal then carpet then some rubber mats.
I want to ditch the carpet as it gets wet and smells when i get stuck in deep water holes.
Does anyone know of a sound deadening paint, tar or something else that is waterproof that i can coat the floor in and then just use rubber mats.
Without the carpet it is too noisy for around town etc?

Get some marine carpet, at least then when it gets wet you just take it out and let it dry.

Try and get "TetroSeal". Its almost like a liquid tar that goes on with a paint brush as thick as you want & dries hard it also used to come in spray tins :?: , very good for noise deadening and sealing out water and yes just throw some marine carpet down as it doesn't rot or smell when wet.
Also some types of sealed foam (like a plastic coat & black) can also help under carpet to help sound deadening if it gets wet wet just wring out and let dry 8)
Cheers
Bryce
