    Defender Ute - Extra Cab

In the mid 1990's Land Rover sold some Defender utes with extra length cabs. Does anyone know if these were special consignments for the Australian market or did someone in Australia convert these especially for dealers. If they were a special conversion does anyone know who did it or where the parts came from.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Regards, Barry

These were made/extended locally by various body builders. They were sold as a "Big Cab" 110 Defender.

I'm sure the parts were made by each body builder but I'm not sure about the roof.
I seem to recall some differences in the roof panel between the various body builders though.

    Extra cab

Here is mine if the photo works.
Mob on the east coast did the conversions i think. Pretty crap job i must say. Metal they used was not treated and rusting allready. Will have to sort it out one day. I think they only where done on the 130 utes.

I wonder how much it would cost to do that to my 110 ute ?

The lack of head room (Mine hits the rear bulkhead above the window) is the only thing that needs attention comfort wise as far as I am concerned.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

I have one the same as Gaz69 except mines a td5 2000 mod.

ex telstra. They had a few made, in NSW so Ive heard.

The extra room is great when in it for long runs, store lots of

    sh8t behind the seats.

Put a 90 rear end on, make the back part a sleeper cab??? Guess you could make something up ureself using LR parts.
