Exhaust increase / cut to reduce EGTs?

Anyone cut out the middle box and or run a straight through with EGR data? I've already cut my middle box out and am in the middle of installing an EGT gauge so cannot do a before and after.

Did those with EGT gauge notice lower EGTs after cutting out the middle box / fitting a straight through?

    Cheers.

Well, it was, I did put resonator back on, it was nice to hear turbo whirl, but it was just stupidly loud. Resonator is no, or very little resistance anyway, but reduces 80% noise from what I noticed.
EGT depends on lot of factors from what I gathered. I'm not sure how much muffler removal helps (I'm sure someone will have knowledge to share), but as I said, I didn't notice any difference on mine. My pump is set up in a way that I have to be careful how much foot I plant on the go pedal otherwise EGT shoot over 700 quite quickly. So muffler or no, I have to watch it. If you want to bring EGT down and keep it down, more air or less fuel.

Yeah i wondered about the resonator as most that have tried a straight pipe complained that the drone drove them crazy.

I put on a flow through cat & exhaust. Should have done it years ago. Noticeable difference. Holds gear (auto) longer, better economy and seems to run better.

I wasn't bothered by the drone that much, I could hear it but it wasn't that loud inside the cabin. But it was just stupidly lout outside, during acceleration especially. It just makes you look like a di*khead. You are making all this noise but not accelerating at some amazing rate.
