my foam cell shock are land fill. Lasted about 18 months and gave out completely on the way up to Cape York. Made for an interesting drive for the remainder of the trip.
Sometimes you have to drive corrugations at the speed that feels most comfortable, irrespective of your desire to preserve shocks and other parts.
That's the thing you ought to factor in, parts don't fail on the daily grind near home. They fail when on that extended, long awaited for and much excited about trip (or fail in the local state forest after a day of testing the limits of the vehicle). MLD
