    Just get an old rangie and whack the series body on it, much easier, and will be better off road. Get a hold of the A 4x4 Is Born dvd's from the discovery chanel series, it details everything. Matt

    Did this start off as a long wheel base ute. I was thinking of doing something similar with a shorty series 1. However, I know where there is a reasonably complete long wheel base ute on a farm and was thinking of trying to acquire it and using it.

    My only concern was wrecking a series 1 as they are starting to become a bit rare.

    This started out as a 88" S1 - see on the sides where he has extended the rear tub.

    It also has a complete flip front for easy access to the motor etc
