This sounds a bit like the injector wiring harness problem that earlier td5's are known to have. Fuel seeps into the harness and eventually reaches the ECU causing missfire etc..

You may be better taking the vehicle to a LR place that is familiar with the problem.

    Good luck with it.

    Bruce.

Could it be the air conditioner kicking in and out?

My Td5 misses a beat sometimes and I tend to notice it more with the air conditioner on. It is not a severe miss, just a little jump.

    Cheers.

    Hi Johnv,

I am replying to a question you posted at the start of November re Td5 mssing a beat... I have a 99 Td5 that had a similar issue - esp when under load eg climbing Toowoomba range. I took the vehicle into Austral LR in Brisbane and they said that the PCV valve was blocked. They replaced the PCV valve and the turbo hose and the problem has resolved!

    Cheers,

    David.
