but if you have concerns and say the misses drives it as her daily driver I would put a muffler in.

Would there be any afford to leave them on a custom made 3" exhaust? What is the main reason for the increase in power and torque? Bigger diameter of the pipe, no mufflers or the changes to the breathing components?
"the exhaust of gasses from an internal combustion engines is critical to performance"
or words to that effect
why do Top Fuellers have no exhaust??? 8)
god bless good scavengers...
off track (wheres that Kelpie?) but still on exhausts---
one of the biggest STEAM train performance breakthroughs was the introduction of vented steam into the exhaust stack to help scavange "burnt fuel" from the engine.
sort of early reverse supercharging :?: 8O
been there heard that, one of my old tech techers when i was doing my trade was right into scavanging in a big way.
we modified several very common small motors to get them to peak performance using various mods he devised
once got a 125cc victa with custom made stainless steel piston and header to over 28,000 rpm running on an oxy / acetelyene mix
also got one of those small rotary engines they had on the pumps on the offshore oil rigs to triple it's power output with his custom porting.. noisiest motor i have ever heard in my life and it did well over 30,000 rpm before the carbon seals let go....
he was a very interesting teacher....
was it "interesting'when the seals let go at 30,000???
Ok Incisor,
Well your next project is to get my 4ltr V8 to 38000rpm
without breaking it!!!
Now this could be interesting
