    Timing Marks 3.9l

Hi everyone, I finaly got around to changing my timing the other morning (3.9lV8) but i could not find any timing marks. There is a large slot in the harmonic balancer, but no marks for actual timing. I used the passenger side front spark plug lead, i could not find any thing to reference off the drivers side. It's not pinging yet so i might advance it a bit more.
Just did 1,325Km's to Ferntree Gully and back with a car trailer to pick up a Volvo and seem much better in response than normal (running Ultimate), got around 22l/100km's. Question 2 is how do i slow the idle down, it idles faster now, but i can't see any idle adjustment any where. (Maybe i need new glasses?).

They will be there on the bottom pulley wheel - sounds like you need to get some steel wool and do some cleaning!
