My 3 bolt (in a RRC) only started leaking when I over did the slop adjustment screw.
Have you played with that?

Hi, I have just put a full seal kit thru my 3 bolt power steering box. I had heaps of guild leaking out of the bottom of the out put shaft. Also had a heap of slop so decided a strip down and new deal kit would be the go.
Well strip down and seals all replaced. Drives like a dream! Except on full lock right! The out out shaft seals are massively leaking! Full lock left is fine. Full rotation all the way thru is fine. When I am just about to reach full lock right it just massively leaks!
I have checked every thing in my manual and every thing seems by the book! I just don't understand why it is only full lock right that makes it leak?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I will check it in the morning. It's a posibility as I was trying to get rid of the slop. Wouldn't supprise me if I did over tighten it.
Thanks
the power steering box has a double acting ram inside of it.
one side of the ram works only agaisnt the body of the power steering box and not the output shaft.
the other side of the ram works against the seal of the output shaft.
the side that does not have hydraulic pressure applied to it is vented back to the reservoir.
so when you turn left to get out the oil has to go past the main hyrdaulic ram seal, and then past the main output shaft seal while flow is being returned to the reservior.
for it to leak only near the limit is either as mentioned earlier the adjustments are out and near the limit the pressure is letting the shaft unseat the seal (bad, ones the seal is bypassing its only going to get worse), you have damaged seal or shaft faces that have a leak point that at the moment is only lining up and only leaking under pressure
does it leak if you position the output by hand and then apply pressure or does it only leak if you "steer" the box to its limits?

Only leaks when I turn with the wheel ( steer ) doesn't do it when I turn by hand?
Found the leak! The bottom seal was in the wrong way round! I copied the one I took out when I replaced it. Low and behold the original one was installed up side down. Power steering working and not leaking!!! Thank you
