Hi all,

The steering on my 79 Rangie is very light.

It has also developed a lot of slop in the power steering box (steering shaft).
I have tried to adjust it out, but the adjusting nut gets quite tight without much change in the slop.

It also shakes alot at 70kmh, but that is suspension bushes (to be fixed over xmas).

I have another chassis/wreck in the back yard that has a manual steering box.
Is it an easy swap from power steering to the manual box?

If it is, will the manual box be too stiff?

A bonus with the swap will be one less system that leaks oil.
Another bonus is it will create space for an on board air (aircon) compressor.
