Engel hinge lock
Thanks Zook for the tip, I was in BCF today and remembed your suggestion re: hinge lock, to my supprise they had some in stock, at $4.90 I thought i would buy one.
Off to fit it now, Megs probably won't even realise it fitted, I had given up on asking to ensure the hinges were butted up against each other before shutting the lid, so long as her champas is cold she'll be happy. Engle should supply them at no cost or fit them as standard.

We have the fridge bag over ours, and it seems to hold the door in place.
I presume these things stop the door from coming off?

the bit you see sticking out next to the hinge sticks up enough to stop the
lid from sliding off the hinge.....
you simply press it down to remove the lid....its only plastic....
and it comes with a spacer to fit behind the other hinge so they sit level...
