Water tank and Step fitting - help needed - '98 Discovery
I've picked up a Landrover Discovery hydraulic rear step and a steel water tank and can't work out how the hell the damn things fit. The step is a L/R part and has a hydraulic ram that raises it when not in use. The tank doesn't have a manufacturer's name but appears to be factory made 1100mm long x 340mm high x 130 wide. The previous owner couldn't tell me where it fitted except to say it was on the chassis but I can't see anywhere it would fit. Appears to be well made with shaped cut outs to fit around chassis members...somewhere?
Any thoughts?
Cheers

Does the water tank have brackets at either end and 2 on the chassis side ? If so you need to make some L shaped brackets that bolt to the body mount outriggers at either end and the chassis ones, 1 will bolt using 1 of the gearbox mount brackets and the other will need a hole with crush tube drilled.
I can email pics if the description fits yours, mine are on a rangie but will be the same.

they are sill tanks by the sound of things....
they should sit against the chassis rails(on the outside of the chassis)
and i think there is a difference between left and right tanks....
do you have a tow bar fitted....?
if yes what sort.....
the rear step will only fit if there is no tow bar fitted or a genuine land rover
bar is fitted....
it will not fit with aftermarket towbars such as hayman reese....
well not on my fender anyway.....

Thanks for the feedback Guys,
Loanrangie, can you email a pic or two please as it sounds as if it's the same as yours.
Cheers
