    Dumb-ass wheel/height width question?

I want to put wider/taller tyres on my defender if it doesn't sell, looking into lift kit, but main issue is even current 235/85/16's on standard 6.5" rims rub on the control arms under full lock. I have wider spare rims, but they are wider, but sit the same width on the inside. What am I to do? Any suggestions?

I know there have been similar Q's, so forgive me. I have seen defenders with bigget tyres.
PS. Don't want to go the 'cut and reweld centres' option at the moment

How much are you 'realistically' looking to pay?

Well that depends on a few factors, but if I can get new for $75 each, it would be less than that. 8)
I have mint 16x7 sunraysia's for sale at $300ono for the 5 which haven't set the world on fire yet, so maybe $60 each is too much for even near newies..... 8O
Do you have some? if so...
    What condition?
    What colour?
    How much neg offset?
Unfortunately, even if you do, shipping the heavy bitches from will add too much to the cost.
    PM me.

Heavy is definately an issue, I had EWW steel rims with 305-70-16s and could hardly lift the buggers on (And I'm not a small bloke).

I replaced them with Performance Alloys from their Heavy Duty 1400kg rated each range. And have noticed even the vehicle is happier.

Less shudder in the steering after hitting a bump. Spin up easier, Slow easier (inertia/mass) and slight increase in around town economy (I'm assuming due to being easier to get rotating).

They arent in the $75 dollar range, but have excellent offset and you should be able to get them from a local tyre store. They're tuff.... I havent dont anything to mine and I play on rock all day!

    Cheers
    Mike
