    Pinstripe removal

Gday, I just finished removing some 30+ year old pinstripes from the sides of my 109 2A.

I looked online for how-to articles but didn't see much that looked helpful, there were some articles recommending a rubber wheel that fits on a cordless drill to remove them but I didn't find any in the local retailers.

A Repco parts guy suggested blasting the majority off with a pressure cleaner then using acetone to finish off the residual glue.

I don't have a pressure cleaner but the acetone worked a treat with a razor blade scraper. I was too slack to put gloves on at first and my fingers felt a bit numb afterwards, after that I used gloves and didn't have that trouble again!

It looks a bit like the imprint of the stripes is still there, will see how much it shows when I am finished painting it...

    Cheers

Any automotive paint supply shop with have CARAMEL Wheels, this is what you put on your drill and it removes the pin striping without paint damage.
    Repco are useless
    If no joy try ebay.
