    The 81 had the "short" shift.
    This only meant that you diid not bang your knuckles on the dash changing to first or third.LOL

    To confuse you more, the 82-83 vintage rangies with the 1.1 high range rev at 2550 rpm. This is what mine read on my old 83 prior to fitting the3 ZF auto.
