Sounds like a Bruce Davis Quote to me

How do they mount differently so as not to cause chassis twist

Although I would hate to think of the pressure put on a point that close to a crossmember that would cause the chassis to twist 8O

The 4x4DE recovery points are great, real strong amd a pretty good price.

I have had some monstrous snatches on mine and a triple reduction winch pull without a problem.

Michael also posted up today on the D2 site that he is having a christmas special on some of his stuff and the recovery points wer selling for $99.

Mick, I helped Simon Arch a couple of months ago fit his steering guard with the recovery points. It just took a little bit of work with the angle grinder and everything was sweet.
Glad to hear you are comfortable with the 4x4DE points - as seqfisho said, it would have to be one hell of a snatch/recovery to twist the chasis and if that was the case then surely any recovery point will result in the same twisting 8O :?:

Am going to leave my steering gaurd off just now and see how I go - also removed the air scoop as well - shouldn't cause problems should it?

Cheers again walker for the help and reassurance, hopefully this will all help Greenman with his search!!

    Aye for now, Mick

The Davis ones that are sitting on the front counter have the hook placed under the chassis and pointing forward. This mounts onto a frame that comes up both sides of the chassis rails and has bolts then pass through both flanges and the chassis to hold it in place. It looks to me that both chassis sides take the force of the recovery point rather than one side only. They do look very solid. From what he has told me, the points have been tested to the failure point, which is when the chassis tears out.
    Cheers
