That's probably correct. My '95 P38A RR has a lower limit of 16 deg C in AUTO - after that it switches to manual mode and the screen indicates LO, which is logical considering how the system works.

Just getting used to the gadgets etc on the 'new' toy (D2 Td5) and was wondering about the climate control. I can't adjust mine below 16c in Auto mode. It changes to 'Manual' when I try to set the 'Lo' setting. Is this normal?
many thanks in advance.

Yes, it is correct. It will only go to 16 C and then onto low. Since you have a new toy you need to get the Rave Cd. It has the workshop manual, tell you how to pull your Td5 apart, service and all sorts of things. Order it from 'Emporium' and get yourself a 'Aulro' sticker as well

Lyndon.

Hi Lyndon
I agree with Ron.Mine also works how yours is,I would say that the LO just keeps the thermostat on max cooling.
The economy button on the climate control is to use the system without the aircon pump running, more for heating in winter, you can still set your temps as you want but without the aircon running.

Thanks guys...bought the RAVE CD on ebay t'other day  That clarifies the instructions for me as they were a suggesting that you could dial down to 'Lo' in auto.
I'm sure there'll be other questions as time goes by.
and there already is....where's the dipstick for the auto? My D1 had one :?
16dgC is a standard low setting for climate control and air conditioners as below this you will get the system freesing up and then no cold air and will have to defrost the system.

Best left for the professionals when dealing with the auto. For about $200 you can get it serviced with a filter change & fluid. The reason is you need to be underneath topping it up while your car is running and being worked through the gears..suggests a two person operation. You stop when fluid starts to drip out of the filler hole. You also don't get all the old fluid out in one hit, so there is always old fluid still circulating around.
Work that one out :!: :!: :!:
Cheers,
Lyndon.
