Kill switch, the question is what circuit to interupt?

    2004 d2 v8 manual with sequential LPG.

Its pretty well known that most car thefts are the product of pinched key's. I want to set my disco up so that i can flip a switch under the dash and it wont start. Because of the LPG i cannot just interrupt the fuel pump.As far as i see it my options are as below:
    1. have a multi pin switch that i can cut both the fuel circuit AND the lpg solenoid

    2. Interrupt one of the three wires that connect the crank sensor to the ECM.

    3. Cut the injector Earth circuit at the engine bay fuse box. The lpg system takes a reading from this circuit as well.

i understand that if i forget to switch the kill switch on before i attempt to start the car then i will most definitely throw codes.

    whats everyone's thoughts?

The traditional way of cutting off the injectors on a D2 for old style LPG is to find the common feed for all 8 injectors (in the loom behind the engine) and cut that. Fit a 68 ohm 1 watt resistor across the cut so that the ECU still sees a current flow to the injectors but they don't actually open. The injector positive wires are brown with an orange stripe, in the loom all 8 injector feeds are gathered in a "clinch" and the one to cut is the thicker gauge one leading into the clinch from the fuse box and EFI relay. The LPG system could be disabled by not having a positive feed from the injectors. Cutting off a LPG solenoid is unwise as the LPG ECU sees an error. Cutting the RPM input will also disable the LPG.

A simple one would be to go into one wire from the inertia switch circuit, this cuts the main relay coil's feed which means ECU, MAF, IATV and all injectors feed too + the pump and according to the setting in BCU if the ignition is turned on with the inertia switch opened the hazards will start as well... no fault codes in this case

While I do believe this is a good idea. It is a D2a, why would thieves want a D2a? I have one too, they are not the kind of car thieves are after. It is just a D2.

It's just like locking wheel nuts on D2s, no one steals the alloys

Maggots who break into homes and take keys then vehicles dont care what they take. So long as they take something.
If OP feels a kill switch is beneficial, it doesnt matter what vehicle it is.

I agree maybe others seem to think there is a market out there for stolen D2,S hence the criticism to the op`s question.
    It is the Op`s wish

    This.

Look guys thanks for the advise. and yes, a d2 is not exactly a desirable car. I dont think anyone would want to steal one to sell off or strip. I want to do this mod because i want peace of mind. i live in a sketchy part of perth at the moment for Uni and scum will steal anything these days, just to get a kick.

I'll throw up some info when i have completed the mod!

I would inturupt the starter relay that triggers the starter solenoid. From the ignition switch, put a switch in the White/Red wire that runs to fuse 23 in the passenger compartment fuse box. This will prevent the car from cranking. I guess an eager thief could push start the car if its a manual (don't think the 04 came in a manual though?) so you could use a double pole switch and connect the Yellow run wire from the ignition also.

Many ways to achieve what you are trying to do.

The LPG system will have a tachiometric relay in there somewhere that cuts the gas if the engine stops turning. You could find that and manually switch the control wire but I do not have any knowledge of what that would do to the petrol system (I assume you can switch from petrol to diesel easily?).
