My transfer case centre lock has locked in even though the lever is on unlocked
Being me I cut a small hole in the tunnel so I could see what was going on the lever seems to be fully disengaged but still locked?
Any help please, I have stuffed it but I don't want to keep snapping teeth off so I can keep driving it

Yes that's a final resort but I would like to get it unlocked if I can
You say the lever is moving
Can you see the CDL spigot rotating?
The CDL is a simple design , if that spigot turns only thing that will keep the dog engaged is a breakage in the spigot, shaft, fork or sliding dog
If possible remove linkage from spigot and see if it is ineeed turning
Is the diff definitely locked and not just the light engaged?

Make sure you havent stripped the arm and the at the nut on top of the selector turns with the arm.
If it doesnt remove the bolt and get on it with a 10mm spanner, before you do jack up the RHF wheel so you can kick it back and forth while you work the spanner.
wheel chocks, park brake, the usual jackign safety stuff but leave the main box or tcase in neutral.

						Ahh thanks Dave
The light goes on and off, the arm turns but I didn't actually look to see if the spigot is
Will check on the weekend, I know I've broken teeth so I need another one but until the $$ are saved it will have to survive

						Thanks as well Steve
The light is switched when the internal collar slides the dog
If the light is on but the diff remains unlocked then you have internal issue
T bag has to come out

Shortly i'll have a spare 1.2 ratio LT230. But i'm a fair drive from SA.
It might be possible to get it to disengage by driving backwards, it works of me. Even just rolling backwards works. But since you have broken it internally already it may not work.
By the way is it a 1.2 ratio or 1.4. If 1.4 please PM me.
