The thing I found with our Disco is that while the windscreen seals looked healthy, water poured in when the windscreen copped water. This INCLUDES WASHING THE WINDSCREEN. I have not seen the DII seals up close, but the DI has a centre bead that SHOULD force the seal up against the glass. In the case of ours, it did not and the section pressing on the glass required sealing with RTV silicone.
It sounds silly but I would strongly recommend that you have a very close look around the sides of the transmission tunnel, footwells and firewall while someone pours water down the windscreen with a watering can from the outside edges, moving towards the centre. Check both sides the same way.
hey macman
thanks for your in put it deffinatly wouldn't be the windscreen as we were watching the drip from under the dashboard it was quite a fast flowing drip. and we had not washed the car recently,,,,,, but since i have writen the question my boyfriend has been under the car like someone suggested found the tube gave it a squeeze load of water came out about 3/4 of a cup worth and since then the car has not leaked with the aircon on
thanks

Hey Dullbird,
First thing is that your name doesn't make sense,,, Any bird driving a DII can't be dull. https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ (shhhh dont tell my wife I said that) 8)
Like someone said earlier,,the tube your boyfriend squeezed has got a "rose bud" drain fitted to the end and there is a tube on both sides of the transmission tunnel.
If you give the rose's a good pull they will pop out (and can be refitted at any stage). If you leave these in, you may need to get under and clear them with annoying regularity. the aircon seems to be a great vaccum cleaner as well all the dust and rap within a hundred feet of your car seems to end up in your aircon drip tray 8O and this when drying out seems to be glue like. I do water crossing fairly often during the wet up here and dont have any negatives from removing the rose buds.
If you look under your carpet you will find LR have used the worlds most efficient sponge 8O as soundproofing and the little leak will become something of a lake very quickly. but it is almost impossible to get your carpet properly dry(even if you think it feels dry on top you should see the water this underlay can hold ,,SSSHHEEEZZZ
You have probably noticed now that you have cleared the tube the aircons on these LR's are pretty good. Mine up here in the tropics is like having a tap turned on under the car :? , raises some eyebrows amongst the NISSOTA drivers up here. https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ The poor buggers dont seem to understand how a car can have such an efficient aircon even at idle 8O
Duffs right, You got into this forum and got the problem fixed.Quote:

Anyways, welcome to the forums and keep enjoying the Disco. Hopefully your future writings will be in the general chat telling us about your Discoventures.
