What do you mean the immobilisation light stays on after ignition? untill you start the engine or after the engine was started...as about the "handbrake" warning be aware that it's for brake fluid level too
Hey fellas recently I've had the red Engine Immoblisiation Light stay on after ignition. Ive looked though the setting with the Nannocom but with no luck. Ive also had the hand brake Light stay on since I bought it not so worried about that one.
Its a MY02 Defender TD5

yeah the immobilisation light stays on after its started and your driving around and with the handbrake light Ive filled fluid as much as I can but did nothing and then tried unplugging the wires on the cap after as well.
For the immobilisation warning you'll have to hook a multimeter to C0233 - 5(orange) and watch it when the symptom occurs to see where the problem is coming from cos if you get voltage on that wire but the light is on it means it's an internal issue of the instrument pack and if you get earth on it it's an alarm ECU missbehaviour or short toearth on that wire(you can follow it between the pack and alarm ECU which is in that area... it's a bit laborious but unfortunately i can't see other way to rule this out...for the other warning unplug the handbrake switch to see what happens

cheers for that found it was getting 0.5v on the orange wire. By instrument pack do you mean inside where the warning lights are?
and unplugged the hand brake wire still no luck Ive read somewhere that it may possibly have something to do with air in the line so when I get a chance Ill bleed it other than that I think it might be there to stay
Yes that's what i meant by instrument pack. For the immobiliser warning to extinguish the ECU must send 12v on that earth path so if you get only 0.5v that's the problem and it means the alarm ECU is playing up or it's a wiring issue, ..as long as you unplugged the fluid level sensor and handbrake switch and the warning is still on it means also a short to earth on that warning's path it has nothing to do with air in the system... do you have RAVE cos then i can tell you which connector to check as you need the connector views

Fantastic Ill see what I can fined with Alarm ECU and Im just downloading the RAVE manual now
