Well funny enough the 2.2 replaced the 2.4 but the 2.2 is the older engine,don't know why they changed to be honest.

I assume there's very difference with the 2 in engine performance; reliability/durability & economy, etc etc ??

Firing order springs to mind as one of the changes.

You can hear the difference between them when idling side by side

I think the change was because of tighter emissions standards. Using both EGR and DPF in Europe.
