It's nothing to be saved from one engine ECU and loaded to the other on SD card with nanocom, the SD card is to save inputs fuelling logs or BCU, SLABS settings, not the case here, IMO it's something wrong with that ECU as it can not learn the security code and it's stuck in "secure" status or something odd

When the starter switch is turned on, the BCU sends a unique security code to the ECM. The ECM must accept this
code before it will allow the engine to operate. If the ECM receives no security code or the ECM receives the incorrect
security code, then the ECM allows the engine to run for 0.5 seconds only. During this operation all other ECM
    functions remain as normal.
The ECM operates immobilisation in three states:
    l 'New.'
    l 'Secure'.
    l 'No Code'.
When an ECM is unconfigured it will operate in the 'New' state. When an unconfigured ECM is installed the engine
can be started and operated once only, then the ECM has to be re-configured to either 'secure' or 'no code'
configuration depending on whether a security system is fitted to the vehicle. This is achieved by using TestBook.
With the ECM in a 'Secure' state, it will not function unless an alarm system is fitted to the vehicle. A 'Secure' ECM
cannot be configured into a 'No Code' ECM.
With the ECM in a 'No Code' state, it does not require an alarm system to be fitted to allow the engine to operate. If
the ECM senses that an alarm system is fitted it will not start. A 'No Code' ECM can be configured to a 'Secure' ECM
using TestBook. A 'Secure' ECM can not be configured to a 'No Code' state.
Setting up of the ECM immobilisation configurations can only be performed using TestBook.
If a vehicle stalls immediately after starting it is possible that it has been immobilised. This means either:
l The ECM was configured as 'No Code' but the ECM is receiving a code at its alarm input pin.
l The ECM received an incorrect code.
l The ECM was expecting a security code but did not receive one at its alarm input pin.
go with nanocom in BCU settings and disable the immobiliser see what happens then

go with nanocom in BCU settings and disable the immobiliser see what happens then
You can read and save the throttle setting and injector codes to file, then load and save the settings to the new ECU.
It should be much faster and accurate than re-entering everything manually.

It's a long time since I've done but if you go into the throttle/injector code page and read then save it should be ok...

This is an example of the file format:

    Code:
    NANOCOM - TD5ENG.APP - TD5 ENGINE setting file

    param;value
    Injector 1;LHNHM
    Injector 2;LNNLM
    Injector 3;LGNFM
    Injector 4;LBNMM
    Injector 5;LCLNM
    Accelerator;3 WAY
The information about the immobiliser tells you that messing with the BCU is pointless. The ECU stores a learned code, and expects to receive that from the BCU. Once a code is learnt the ECU is in secure mode and requires the code to start. SECURE is normal operating mode, not something "odd".

Garmen has done a lot of work on removing the immobiliser on the ECU and it requires deleting the save coded from the ECU EEPROM to change the state from SECURE to "NO CODE".
You'd actually have to do this mod and then turn the immobiliser off in the BCU for it to work.

But Jose is correct it should be a simple two step procedure.
    1) Transfer the injector codes and throttle settings from old to new ECU.
    2) Learn the security code from the BCU.

Hi, Paul, i did that once for a friend, the ECU refused to learn the security code then i disabled the immobiliser in the BCU and the engine started right away... strange i know but happened(used hawkeye then not nanocom)

about that file you posted... can you read that from a MSB and load it to NNN? if yes in which menu of nanocom can you do that?

If that worked for you maybe it's worth a go...

The settings save will work same on any Td5 ECU.
The core diagnostics are basically the same across all versions, however the NNN's extend the functionality slightly.

Just go into the Throttle/Injector pages then click the disk icon and name the file and save.
To load go into Throttle/Injector pages click the folder icon and pick the setting file you want to load.
Right scroll across to the throttle page and click "write settings".

This is a really quick and wonky video of how to do it...

    Digging up an old thread

My defer has been at BOR for the last two days.......

They have managed to keep he engine running however every time they turn the engine off it won't re-start without going through the learn security codes.

I have email Jose, it's certainly been a frustrating and expensive journey

    Anybody got any ideas??
