Advice on Td5 maintenance please
Careful just putting a kit in the fuel pressure regulator the hose that runs parallel to the head can perish resulting in much weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Wheel bearings?
All bearings on the front of the motor.
Are you loosing coolant under load? 2002 only has plastic dowels on the head.
Check suspension bushes good shocks are a must
Maybe replace clutch master and slave
I usually make up a spare shielded cable from the ECU to the CPS (this is the only sensor that will stop you)
I would carry a throttle pot and a CPS
Change the injector harness if it hasn't been done in the last 12 months
Might be worth putting a switch on the ABS power feed under the drivers seat
If it decides to play up on the rough roads it can intermittently put the brakes on for you
Just turn it off if it does
I have a 2002 TD5 Defender and spent 8 years in the north west so speak from experience
I also carry a spare of each of the 3 ECUs
Probably not necessary
You are in a Land Rover and will really need to be self contained
Ring All4x4 and they will probably do a spares kit that you can return if unused
