In 94, a mobile car kit would mean a phone booth on the tailgate !Originally posted by Scouse

no...they didnt come with a cradle.....
they did have some wiring to connect the phone to which worked in conjunction
with the radio.....by turning the volume down when the phone rang and so on...
but none of the installers knew about this and used to fit a heap of their own wiring....
and it would have been for some type of analogue phone.....
you know...the type before simcards were invented.....
the ones that used to work crystal clear and never drop out.....
cmon guys...im sure you remember what im talking about...they were used to
make and receive phone calls......
Is your Vogue an EAS model ?
And does it have SRS airbags ?
(both nothing to do with mobile phones of course).
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

My '94 Vogue also had a phone cradle in it, but it was a Nokia hands free kit.
If you want to check further, open the lower dash panel by your right knee (when sitting in the drivers seat of course). There are 2 bayonet style clips which easily undo and the panel is hinged at the bottom.
You will most likely find the foreign wiring in this compartment and the control box for the hands free kit will probably be in there. Chances are its a Nokia or similar.

Vlad is just easing in to ask if you have an SRS compatible Bull bar on your Range Rover and whether you'd be prepared to sell it if you do.Originally posted by VladTepes

Wondering if you could post a pic of the cradle? Might be I know what sort of phone fits: nokia 6080- about the right age, and they were popular with euro cars. It's a proper car-telephone, and I happen to have one lying around without a cradle.
