    D2a Heater not working

Sorry, probably not the right section. Found my D2a (V8 auto) heating not working tonight. Was working this morning. Temperature gauge same, no change. Lights on the climate control went out last night, so was wondering if it could be caused by a faulty climate control unit rather than being a heater core problem. Can anyone advise. Also am needing a replacement cup holder/coin/ash tray holder, as mine has broken. Any recommendations as to who to ring and not get ripped. Thanks in advance.

try looking for blown fuses. could be an easy fix

Curious as to what's not working with yours.
Does it not blow hot air, is the air warm, luke warm, cold. etc.

I just did some work to the cooling system of mine, and went to bleed it. Noticed that the supposedly hot air(with the temps set to high) is more cool than warm.
Thought maybe still air pockets in cooling system, so bled it again after a cool down.
The next day I had the car idling again for a long while to get it up to temp.
Built up pressure in the cooling system, checked bleed screw again, and no air but I noticed that it(heater) did start to get warm, but then after a while it went cooler again.
Max temp value according to OBD was about 60°C after close to an hour. temp gauge needle barely moved off about the 1/4 mark.
(that was sitting idling in the driveway tho .. I can't drive mine on the road yet.).

I'm thinking maybe some temperature sensor is playing up and it thinks the temp is higher than it is so is limiting how much heat to allow through.

There is a D2 climate control self test here.

    D2a Heater not working

AK83 - Mine seems to be like yours. It's still working, but not blowing hot/warm air. This afternoon started working again, but a few hours later was not working. I haven't bled the system or anything, as nothing temperature wise has changed with the car. I think if I get a change tomorrow I will go and see a LR specialist and see if they can give me a better idea.

Eevo - i will check fuses, good idea. i hadn't done it yet as the unit was/is working as such, just not warm/hot air (sorry not in my original post). I'm hoping (fingers crossed) it's a simpler fix.

Phillip A - Thanks for the link, will give that a go tomorrow

I just did the self diagnostic check on mine and I get the codes 21 and 22 which are sunlight sensor left and right faults.
The heaters are not working now and they worked perfectly before, how do I go about fixing the sunlight sensor faults?

If you open up that panel below the steering wheel you will be able to see if the servo moves the actuating arm to direct hot air into the system.
Just put the temp down for a start then put the temp up and see if there is movement there.
My take on this is that If there is No movement then it is some sort of electronic/electrical fault, if it does move then there is probably a blockage in the heater core.

I just checked mine and there is movement so my next step is to flush out the heater core as I have the same problem.
