    EGR Valves

Pulled the manifold off one of our vehicles yesterday as the EGR valve was making unusual noises and a mate had advised me to remove and clean the inlet manifold while I was on the job.
This is what I found! Lots of carbon build up. Vehicle has nearly done 110 thousand kays.
Makes you wonder why an engine would have such a thing fitted to it!
    Hardly clean burning.

    Cheers, Mick.

It's supposed to make a noise while cleaning itself, usually after a long run when the heat builds up. If it stops making the noise then there is a problem.

    The noise was abnormal Mick.
    EGR valve was leaking.

    Cheers, Mick.
