TD5 ecu upgrade.?????
2000 td5, manual. New to TD5 ownership.
A question, I intend to keep my td5 for the foreseeable future. I'm going to tow a camper trailer up to the cape and intend to start getting out and about. I have a nanocom and when playing with it it says my ECU is not programmable. MSB type. When i bought car I was advised that it had been chipped. Now my understanding after reading posts ect is that this ecu can not be modified is this correct ?
Next question what would i be looking at to upgrade ecu. I assume i have to buy an upgradeable ECU then get it chipped or can you buy one set up. Not after a drag car just a comfortable towing car. Happy to support forum vendors if they can help me out. BAz

The pre 2002 ECUs can be chipped but it has to be a physical process of replacing the chip inside the ECU.
Look for a sticker on the ECU.
AFAIK TD5 Inside in Portugal can do it and so can locals like Davis Performance Landys.
