R 380 oil leak. Not rear seal. how to fix?

G'day all, Thinking the rear output seal was what was leaking, I've pulled it all to bits only to find the area between the transfer box and gearbox is dry. The oil is escaping at at a fair rate. A teacup sized pool on the shed floor overnight, even though the rover hasn't moved for two days. Now I've split it, how do I proceed to where the leak is and seal it up. This gearbox is a recon unit not very old, but I'm not going back to the bloke that put it in.
The picture into the gap is pretty poor, I couldn't get focus in the right spot. The second picture shows where the leak is coming from.

Looks like you'll need to pull the box unfortunately, but just check any bolts to the extension housing aren't loose first

Spot on Discorevy. Thanks for the tip.The bolts are barely more than finger tight. I have to hope that torquing them up correctly will stop or at least reduce the leak. I don't have access to a tool for pulling and replacing the mainshaft oil seal collar, so can't get the housing off to reseal it properly.

Glad to help , I guess you can top up the box now and see if it leaks before refitting the tc.

It has oil in it now, and is sitting in the shed waiting for me to finish the job. I need it for a job soon, so I've had to start putting it back together. It's my only form of transport.
I thought those bolts didn't feel very tight even when correctly torqued up. Is it common for them to come undone? The manual doesn't suggest thread lock, but if they do have a tendency to loosening, would it be a good idea?

The above picture shows a leak of the intermediate shaft pump seal (pump sits behind that s/s plate.
To the right is a drain hole in the casting, for the rear mainshaft seal / output shaft seal - whichever way you prefer to label it.
It's important to not silicone that drain hole up.

It's been sitting in the shed for the past week while I've been busy. There's a slight weeps but no drip, so I'm happy with that. All back together and successfully test driven. I put new handbrake shoes in while it was all apart. Thanks for the guidance. This forum does it again.
