Hi, as per heading does anyone know whether a late 80s (87/88) Range Rover power steering box will fit straight onto a 95 Discovery. Drop arm is different, of course, but nothing else suggests it won't do the job. Drop arm will fit, pipes are the same, steering column uni will fit etc (the two "extra" mounting bolts are large but that wouldn't be a problem).
Any views most welcome before I head into trouble.
Thanks
Cheers

For anyone interested, yes the 87/88 Range Rover steering box fitted onto a 95 Discovery with minimal difficulty. The "extra" pair of mounting bolts are slightly larger and required the holes in the steering box being opened up slightly. Apart from that and the usual problem with fitting the pipes (so as not to cross thread), all was very straightforward.
Whilst on the topic I had trouble getting both pitman arms off, very tight. I had a 10 tonne hydraulic puller fitted and nothing was happening. I decided to apply a small amount of heat, not enough to even damage the lower seal, and bang off they came.
Cheers
Jim
