Could the transfer box on the back of the foton gearbox be rotated to line up with the defender axle. I know it would need the breather repositioned and possibly a couple of studs . I've not looked in a lond time as I've only just bought another defender, and I saw this post years ago. My foton is an auto and flys.

The Tunland single cab ute that I have also has a Getrag gearbox and Dana diffs, the chassis is a direct copy of the previous model Hilux to the point where a Hilux suspension kit bolted straight on without any mods. as did skid plates which only required two holes to be drilled. Hilux running boards also bolted straight on to the mounts under the cab as well. Hilux steel rims also bolt straight on after a little massaging with the Dremel.

It will work but your UJs will be a regular service item and may get vibration.
