Why won't my &$(%)^!)^ stereo security code work

OK, UHF installed, but as the battery was disconnected, the stereo is asking for the security code.

In the manual it refers to a 4 digit code.

The Eurovox card and LR card I have has a 6 digit code.

Every time I try this it goes throught the CODE1, 2, 3 thing - then I hav to wait an hour before I can have another go.

I've put the code in previous and was sure it was this one?

    So....

    1) What the *%)% is going on?
    2) Is it def. a 4 digit code?
    3) Any suggestions?

Or, do I just wait till 2moro and call LR?

    Cheers

They are definately a 4 digit code. Check that it is not written somewhere else. Maybe drop off 2 numbers and try.

In my case the chassis digits 3998 do not equal the radio code 5123.

But filed for future reference

<span style="color:blue">if it was a stereo that i had to come up with the code for.....it will be the last four digits.....

calling land rover wont do a thing for you....
you need to drop in to the dealer with the stereo removed and they will take chassis number of vehicle....
and serial number of head unit......

then make you wait half an hour and charge you accordingly....</span>

    Eurovox card has 6 digit.

Rang Austral LR this morning (where I orig bought the Disco).

Gave them my vin, they gave the 4 digit code - stereo happening again.

Wrote code is safe place, will now file said code in safe place again, and when comes time to find it again, won't be able to - will post another post, next time I remove battery

    Cheers guys
