    Body off RRStdv8

    G'day Everyone;
    Has anyone had the body off their RRS tdv8. either by themselves or at a professional workshop.
    If so how long did it take or how much labour hours were you charged.
    Can anyone recommend a workshop (east coast to SA) to do it.
    I have at least 1 blown head gasket or worse.
    Cheers.

    Body off RRStdv8

    D3/4 and L320 are probably near identical in terms of body lift. I can't see it being too complicated. If nothing on here maybe invest in a Rav or LR manual.

    I haven't heard of a blown head gasket before on a tdv8.

    I'd get a second opinion on the blown HG before I'd go any further. Pat

    It took about an hour to get the body off.

    I believe the book allows 8 hours R&R.

    Sorry, Peter, I don't know. It wasn't a customer of KLR, it came from another workshop.

    G'day
    Thanks for the input I appreciate it.
    I've had about 4 or 5 professional opinions including TRS
    The engine blows 4-6 liters of coolant out in 100km with the van on.
    Had it on a dyno as soon as it reaches 94C, under load, coolant literally explodes out the degas bottle cap.
    No Co2 in the coolant this threw me and others.
    No overheat until coolant is low, then straight to limp mode.
    Degas cap tested ok 16psi.
    Cooling system test shows slow leak with no external sign.
    No coolant leaks any other location including thermostat housing.
    Google searches reveal Ford Lion diesel engines react this way especially the 6ltr F truck when towing if a head gasket is blown due to MLS head gaskets.
    1 RRS tdv8 case recorded in South Africa exact same symptoms.
    Every test reveals no other cause?????????????
    If anyone can suggest a different conclusion I would welcome it.

    G'day Ron;
    So who did the work?
    I've been quoted 30 hours on/off
    Thanks.

    If I recall correctly, it took about 2 hours to refit the body. I got to the workshop to help and it was already on just needing the connections (brakes, electrical, etc.) to be done.
